Espresso Diagnosis
Answer a few targeted questions — we narrow your shot or machine problem to the most likely cause and tell you the next step.
What are you seeing?
☕ This tool helps you narrow down causes and take the next sensible step. It is not a repair manual — machine internals carry both 230V AC and pressurized hot water; service work should be done by a qualified technician.
FAQ
Can I fix espresso machine problems myself?
Recipe, grind, puck prep, cleaning, descaling, group gaskets and steam tips are all user-fixable. Internal leaks, heating-element failures, electrical issues and pump rebuilds are technician territory — both for safety (live AC plus pressurized water) and warranty.
How accurate is the diagnosis?
The verdict narrows your case to the single most-likely cause based on your answers, with a confidence flag and the next step to try. It doesn't replace hands-on inspection — for safety-related items (internal leaks, electrical, descaling neglect) always defer to a professional.
When should I take the machine to a technician?
Any internal leak, repeated failure to heat, electrical issues, or pump faults after descaling. Also: if you've worked through the self-fix steps and the problem persists, a technician can pressure-test and diagnose at the boiler.
